Newskarnataka – Udupi

Udupi: A driver of a container vehicle who lost control  over the vehicle,  smashed it into roadside coconut trees, an electric pole and an old house on the National Highway 66 near Pangala  Kattikere on March 6, Thursday afternoon at around 12.30.

The driver identified as Narayan was said to be in a drunken stupor resulting in the accident. The house belonging to one Veronica was also damaged. The total loss has been estimated at Rs 20000.

The vehicle was travelling towards Mangalore from Udupi. The front portion of the vehicle was completely smashed.

Fortunately no casualties have been reported. A case has been registered in Kaup police station.
