Dr Heggade urges CM to order CBI probe into Sowjanya case

Belthangady: Dr. D.Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala has sought a CBI investigation into the  Sowjanya rape and murder case.

In a letter addressed  to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Dr Heggade said a CBI probe into the case was essential to clear the doubts in the minds of the public  regarding the case.

“Though the CID report has been submitted to the government, the people of Belthangady still have doubts regarding the investigation,” Dr Heggade said in his letter and added  people want more transparent and thorough probe.

He said in the letter that he was reiterating the demand for a CBI probe into the case. Copies of the letter addressed by Dr Heggade has also been sent to Belthangady MLA Vasanth Bangera and Home Minister KJ George.
