Dr Heggade inaugurates Mangalore Dasara at Kudroli Temple

Mangalore:The Mangalore Dasara 2013 celebrations at the Shree Gokarnanatha Temple, Kudroli was inaugurated by Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, at a function held at the Temple premises on October 10,Thursday.Several dignitaries and thousands of devotees graced the occasion. Dr Heggade handed over the Temple Flag to HS Sairam, President of the Temple Management Committee.

In his inaugural address, Dr Heggade,described  the Shree Gokarnanatha Temple as one of the most beautiful places of Mangalore and said  devotees  feel happy to  pray to the Lord and surrender themselves to him in such a shrine.

In his address, Dr Heggade also spoke on the rising corruption, crime and cases of violence against women and urged the society to put up a united fight against such evils. He also exhorted the youth not to forget their roots and culture.

B Janardhan Poojari,former union minister and the architect of the temple renovation,  expressed his gratitude to Dr Heggade for visiting the temple and inaugurating the celebration.

Dr Heggade was also gifted with a Radha Krishna idol on the occasion on behalf of the Temple.

B Ramanatha Rai, State Minister for Forest and Ecology and DK District Minister,  UT Khader, State Health Minister, Abhayachandra Jain, Youth Affairs and Fisheries Minister,  JR Lobo, Shakuntala Shetty, MLAs, Arathi Krishnan,  Cultural Ambassador for India in US, Jaya C Suvarna, Chairman of Bharath Co-operative Bank, KP Nanjundi, jeweler,  J P Narayan Swamy, Urmila Ramesh Kumar, Malathi Poojary, Harikrishna Bantwal and several others were present at the function.
