Do not give scope for communication gap, DC tells poll officials

Mangalore :  Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta  who addressed a meeting of sector magistrates and returning officers at the MCC auditorium on April 12, Friday, has directed the officials to work  in co-ordination without giving any scope for  communication gap.

Continuing, the DC said the sector magistrates will be in-charge of the  flying squad and that  they can initiate action under IPC Section 188 if their orders are flouted.

The DC said there is no scope for political rallies and added political parties and candidates will have to  seek prior permission before using vehicles or arranging food and putting up shamiyanas.

Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar  who also addressed the meeting, said  officials on duty at the static checkposts can video graph any event which they feel was a violation of poll code of conduct.
