Mangalore : A polling percentage of 72.38  was registered in eight assembly constituencies of the DK district on May 5, Sunday.

This time the Election Commission had advanced the voting hours by an hour upto 6 pm. At some places long queues of voters were seen even after 6 and people were allowed to vote by introducing token system.

Some minor confusion were also reported  in some booths and everything cooled down with the timely intervention of the police and security personnel.

The polling percentage in various constituencies are as follows :

Moodbidri-70%

Mangalore North-67%

Mangalore South -64%

Bantwal-78%
