Mangaluru: Two persons from the Dakshina Kannada district are currently stuck at the Gujarat-Maharashtra border and have been living in their car for the past 21 days due to the lockdown.

Seeing their struggle, DK district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh wrote a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of the Valsad district in Gujarat, urging them to provide food and accommodation for the two.

The stranded DK residents have been identified as Ashik Hussain and Mohammed Takeen Maril. As inter-state and inter-district movement has been banned since the lockdown, both have been living out of their car since the lockdown came in force.

A photo of their situation went viral on social media, prompting the DK DC to take action and gather information about the two men, following which she wrote to the Valsad DC.
