Mangalore: District administration in association with department of kannada and culture, Karnataka and Karavali Kurubara Sangha celebrated Kanaka Jayanti.
The minister for youth affairs and games Abhayachandra Jain inaugurated the celebration. In his inaugural address he said “Kuruba’s all over the state are working in the district. Hence, this can be called as the state level gathering of Kuruba’s.
Further, he said that today’s youth should follow the ideology of Kanakadas and when attempts have been made to divide in the name of religion, the teachings of Kanakadas are very prominent who taught that all the religions are equal.
Dignitaries offered a floral tribute to Kanakadas at the beginning.
Mangalore north constituency MLA B A Mohiuddin Bava, additional DC Dayanand, ZP CEO Thulasi Mddineni, and leaders of the kuruba community were present at the occasion.
A portrait of Kanakadas was brought in the procession, which was flagged off at Shravu Shri Mahaganapathi temple by MLA Bava.
