Mangaluru: The department of Community Medicine, A J Institute of Medical Sciences has conducted a  day long CME programme on March 17 on the theme “Disaster Management – Planning, Preparedness & Response”.

The star resource person was Lt General (Dr) N.K Parmar ex Dir Gen Armed Forces, Med Services besides, Professor Ramachandra Kamath of Manipal University, Professor S Shrihari of NITK and Mr.K.G.Nanjappa, Director, Directorate of Factories and Secretary District Crisis Management Group discussed on various aspects of Disaster Preparedness.

The simple but elegant inaugural function was chaired by Prashant Shetty, Vice President LMET and was inaugurated by B Sadashiva Prabhu additional Dy Commissioner Dakshina Kannada.

The gathering was welcomed by Dr. Hemant Kumar, Medical Superintendent. CME theme was elaborated by Dr. S. Jayaram, HOD Community Medicine and vote of thanks by Dr. Pradeep Senapathi. More than 240 public health related delegates across Karnataka state participated in this CME.
