Differently-abled children celebrate Deepavali at Sannidhya

Mangalore: Sannidhya and Manjunath Friends Circle (MFC) jointly celebrated the Depavali festival at the Sannidhya Residential School Hall, in Shaktinagar on Wednesday October 22.

The entire city was celebrating Deepavali in its own way, but at Sannidhya the differently-abled children redefined the festivity by adding an extra spirit to the celebration, with their performances.

Addressing the gathering, Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo announced Rs 15 lakhs from his ‘MLA fund’ to accommodate a special section for the differently-abled children at Kadri Park.

He further wished all the children and promised to extend his support towards the School, in every way possible.

Mayor Mahabal Marla, who is also president of the school, presided over the function. Vasanth Kumar Shetty gave the keynote address during the programme.
CREDAI president – Pushparaj Jain, Vishwas Das, Sachin Kamata, Ashok Pandit and deputy mayor Kavitha were present during the event.

Later the chief guests, members of the Manjunath Friends Club and others bursted firecrackers with differently-abled children, followed by dinner.
