Mangaluru: On the occasion of Uroos at the historical 400-year-old Rahmania Dargah Masjid, thousands of devotees on Sunday crossed a temporary bridge made by joining boats in Adyar.
The devotees who normally use boats to reach the masjid which is located on an island in the Netravathi river, crossed the river on a temporary bridge made for convenience of the devotees who come in large numbers.
It is believed that this particular dargah is known for fulfilling the wishes of the farmer commuity. Those farmers who are affected by lack of rain had come here and offered prayers by distributing a gruel mixed with jaggery as custom seeking blessing for the needy.
