Bantwal: With miscreants resorting to floating derogatory messages against Hindu deity over social networking sites, the case has now been promptly handed over to the Cyber Crime Cell.
It may be recalled that a Facebook post of Jabbar B C Road contained objectionable material on Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari and following the incident a suo motu case under IPC section 295A (Deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) was filed.
However, the accused has not been arrested so far. There are several discussions in the social media about the necessity of stringent action against the accused, as not even a single wrong-doer has been punished for such crimes.
Meanwhile, several Hindu outfits have come together to demand action against the accused, while it is still not ascertained whether the Facebook account of Jabbar B C Road is a bogus account or a genuine one.
Members of Sri Rama Sene offered special prayers at Kateel Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple, seeking punishment for the person who posted the derogatory comments relating to the goddess.
Chief priest Ananthapadmanabha Asranna of Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari temple has said that it is a very shameful act on the part of the culprits. “Followers of all religions pray at this holy place. This incident will be a permanent black mark on the temple. We have to protest against this incident,” he said.
