Ullal: One of the MBBS student who sustained severe injuries in a major accident, died in the hospital here on Tuesday.

Mathew Varghese(20) from Kannur is the deceased.

It may be recalled that on March 4, a group of five medical students who were plying from Derlakatte towards Mangaluru met with a gruesome mishap at Kukkudakatte near KSHEMA College. The condition of two was said to be critical.

MBBS students Mathew Varghese, George Rohan, Kaushik Thomas, Samshad and Rajeev hailing from Kerala were reportedly in an inebriated state when their Honda City car bearing Kerala registration number KL 13 Q 9696 hit an electric pole. They were out of Meeting Point Bar minutes before the mishap occurred. A stock of alcoholic drink was found in the car.

The deceased is survived by his parents who are renowned doctors in Kerala and a sister who is pursuing first year MBBS studies.
