Karkala : A head-on- collision between a KSRTC bus and a police jeep with the registration number K A 02 G 1106, carrying the family of DCP Laburam,  near Neerebailur in Karkala taluk claimed the life of two persons including the wife of the DCP on Wednesday, April 2. Five other passengers in the car were injured  in the mishap.

The deceased have been identified as Gayatri, wife of the DCP and Natraj a constable, who was also the driver of the police vehicle.  It is learnt, Gayatri breathed her last while being rushed to the Hospital. The injured have been admitted to Manipal Hospital.

During the accident the other three were also gruesomely injured which include the DCP’s two daughters and a police constable Ramesh Deshpandya.

The family of the DCP was on way to Udupi after visiting Dharmasthala. Karkala police have registered a case.
