Mangaluru: The deputy commissioner and district magistrate – A B Ibrahim has issued orders against three notorious rowdies under the Karnataka prevention of dangerous activities of bootleggers, drug offenders, gamblers, goondas, immoral traffic offenders and slum-grabbers Act 1985.

The accused have been identified as Hanief alias Mada Hanief, (29) of Devasya, Pudu village in Bantwal taluk; Afeez alias Appi, (25) resident of Maripalla, Pudu village in Bantwal taluk, and M Imran, (23) of Maripalla school, Pudu village in Bantwal taluk.
At present, all the three accused are lodged at Udupi district jail at Hiriyadka for their involvement in crime number 196/2014 under sections 302, 120(B), 201, 149 IPC, an official communiqué here stated.
The police said Haneef, Asif and Imran were arrested in September on the charge of murdering Rifayee, an autorickshaw driver. Rifayee was the younger brother of Tauseef, an accused in the murder of Naushad. Haneef, Asif and Imran have been accused of murdering to avenge Naushad’s murder.
Haneef, Asif and Imran were involved in 12 criminal cases registered in the Bantwal Rural police station, the Bantwal Town police station and the Bajpe police station.
So far, the Mangalore city police have invoked the Act against four persons.
