Mangaluru: The district administration has reserved 20 acres in Badaga Ekkar village in Mangaluru taluk for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), according to Deputy Commissioner A. B. Ibrahim.
Disclosing this at a special meeting of the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat council recently, Ibrahim said the CRPF is planning to use the land for stationing platoons of the Rapid Action Force (RAF).

He said an official of the rank of a Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) would visit the village soon to inspect the land. The CRPF would take a final call on its presence here.
Ibrahim said that so far the district administration had handed over 476 acres in the district for developing as housing sites for the poor. Still there was a demand for the sites.
Pending plots to meet 50 per cent of the demands would be handed over within the next month, he said.
