Mangalore: A CRPF soldier shot himself with a gun near NMPT, Panambur in Mangalore on Saturday, February 22. The police have suspected the death as a case of suicide.

The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Sandeep Sarkatte who is from Maharashtra. It has been learnt that Sarkatte  shot himself in the stomach.

He reportedly  chose to end his life as he was unable to bear harassment from higher authorities.  It has been told that Sarkatte was not granted leave despite repeated requests.

The body has been taken for autopsy. Panambur Police have registered a case and are carrying out investigations.
