CPI(M) holds protest rally in Udupi

Udupi: Criticizing some of the  moves of  both Congress and BJP before the upcoming Lok Sabha election, Udupi district unit of CPI (M) took out  a rally from Santhekatte to Clock Tower on February 19, Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, K Shankar, Secretary of CPI (M)  said money power is ruling the country. The democracy is limited to some richest hands and the number of unemployed is  increasing, he added.

He demanded the implementation  of the  recommendations of Swaminathan report in the best interests of farmers. For better employment opportunities small scale industries should be welcomed and food Security Bill should be introduced immediately, he demanded.

Lok Pal bill should be passed and measures should be taken to curb the corruption in all sectors, Shanker further urged.

Several CPI(M) members participated in the protest.
