Bantwal : A cattle shed in the house of  one Kariappa Moolya at Komma Kodi in Peraje village was gutted in a fire mishap on Tuesday May 20 night.  The locals as well as fire service personnel assisted in extinguishing the fire.

The fire which was lit in the bathroom to heat water is learnt to have spread to the nearby cattle shed. Neighbours who noticed the fire informed the occupants of the house who informed the fire service personnel and plunged into the task of putting out the fire.

If the cattle shed were completely gutted, the bathroom and a room of the house were partially damaged in the fire. The loss has been estimated at several thousands of rupees.
