Bantwal : A couple sustained serious injuries  in a collision between a bike and an Omni  near Maani on the Mangalore-Bangalore National Highway on Saturday June 7 evening.

The injured couple are Sheikh Shahabuddin (27) and Farah Sheikh (24), residents of Navoor. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore.

The mishap occurred when the Maruti Omni vehicle driven by Usman of Mannagundi  was heading towards Nelyadi from BC Road. As the Omni was taking a left turn, the bike which the couple was riding,  hit the car from behind.

It is learnt, the couple have sustained serious injuries and are undergoing treatment at the ICU.
