Kasargod: In a ghastly mishap, husband and wife, who were thrown on street after a tanker knocked their two-wheeler down died after being run over by another speeding vehicle.

Their one-year-old child has escaped with minor injuries.

The incident took place at Vamanjoor near Manjeshwar on Tuesday.

The deceased are Zakir (31) and his wife Haseen (24) from Pavoor.

It is said that tanker driver, who abruptly started reversing the vehicle, rammed into the scooter of Zakir. While Zakir and Haseena were on the road, a speeding vehicle crushed Zakir to death on the spot, while Haseena died in a hospital.

Manjeshwara police have registered a case.
