Mangalore : Two persons from Bajal Jalligudde area in Mangalore have been nabbed by the police in connection with cases of looting truck drivers on the National Highway. The two were also responsible for the looting of an LPG truck driver at Tokkottu Kapikad on September 30, Monday night, after brandishing weapons and a fake gun.Police have seized a car, iron rods and cash of Rs 7500 from the accused.
Those arrested are Mohammad Sinan and Abdul Salam. Three others namely Arshad, Naufal and Hussain are absconding. The police arrested the duo after intercepting their car near Yekkur on October 1st, Tuesday. However, three others managed to escape.
It is learnt, the car belonged to a BC Road man and was hired by the accused for Rs 900 rent per day. Search is on for the absconding three accused. Sources said the same group had looted three truck drivers in Adyar area. Investigations are progressing.
