Mangalore : Police in two separate raids in the city on Wednesday May 28 have arrested two persons and seized ganja worth Rs 17000.

In the first case, Sharath Kumar, a resident of Dambel was arrested while trying to sell ganja near a college at Ballalbagh. Seventy packets of Ganja which were in his possession were seized by the Barke police. It is learnt, he used to sell each packet for Rs 150. Barke Sub-Inspector Sharief and his personnel Balakrishna, Dinesh Shetty, Anand and Nagappa participated in the operation.
In another case, Abdul Rahiman of Bunder was arrested on similar charges. Nearly 312 grams ganja worth Rs 10,000 was seized. It is learnt, he was earlier arrested twice for peddling drugs. He has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.
