Kasargod: Police have arrested one person  on the charges of  attempting to kill  the accused in the case of  the murder of Uppala’s real estate businessman Muttalib (38).

The arrested man is Mohammad Ali (32) of Uppala. He had allegedly attempted to kill Mohammad Rafique(28), an accused in Muttalib murder case.  The incident took place in the Kasargod court premises when  Rafique was produced before the court and was being escorted back to the sub-jail. The accused who was waiting near the court entrance had inflicted stab injuries on Rafiques neck. The arrested man is said to be wanted in six  criminal cases and was a relative of the killed Muttalib.

Police said he was an accused in the Azharuddin murder case in Uppala and was out on bail.
