Group clash in Kalladka ; 3 hurt; 2 vehicles damaged in stoning

The  situation  in Kalladka town remains tense following group clashes  on the night of Thursday April 10. It is learnt that a group picked up a quarrel with a youth who was walking on the roadside at around 8.30 pm eventually leading to a clash. Three persons were injured in stoning and two vehicles were also damaged during the clashes.

Sources said   several people gathered at the spot later on and two groups were involved in hurling soda bottles and stones at each other. Shops in Kalladka Melinapete and nearby areas immediately downed shutters.

Finally, the KSRP  personnel who were at the spot  had to wield batons to control the situation. It is said that clashes had occurred by the time Bantwal SI and Bantwal Circle Inspector Rajashekhar Mistri rushed to the spot.

Those injured are Suresh (32), Sadashiva (39) and Satish (30), all the three being Ayyappa Vrithadharis. The Maruti Car of Rithesh Shetty of Panchami Hotel, Vittal was damaged, while even the  vehicle of Ayyappa Vrithadharis who are from Kottigehara in Moodigere was damaged. It is learnt 15 people were travelling in the vehicle.

Circle Inspector Rajashekhar Mistri said the situation is under control and security has been stepped up to prevent any further untoward incident.
