Kundapur : The  BJP has nothing else to speak about, but Modi. They don’t ask votes in the name of their candidate, but in Modi’s name.” This was how former chief minister and former union minister SM Krishna made a mockery of the BJP.

Speaking at a public meeting at Nehru Maidan here on Thursday, he said the BJP has no courage to fight the election  by removing the Modi mask. On the other hand, the Congress is seeking votes on the basis of its achievements, he said.

Showering praises on Congress candidate from Udupi-Chikmagalur Jayaprakash Hegde,  SM Krishna  said  he  has always responded to the problems of the people of the constituency and has never hesitated to respond to phone calls from his electorate.

Congress candidate Jayaprakash Hegde and Udupi District in-charge Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake also addressed the gathering.

Addressing press persons earlier, SM Krishna said  the Ram Mandir issue  is just an election issue for the BJP.  He said the development of Gujarat was a farce and that the truth about the development of Gujarat will be revealed if the same is compared with Maharashtra and Gujarat.

He claimed that the country has progressed significantly under the Congress regime.

Several Congress leaders including MA Gafur, Raju Poojari, Vikas Hegde were present.
