Mangalore: The DK District unit of the Congress led by B Janardhana Poojari, the party’s candidate from DK constituency, took out a huge Padayatra from  Tokkottu to the  city  on  March 14, Friday. DK District in-charge Minister and State Forest Minister B Ramanatha Rai flagged off the Padayatra by handing over the party flag to Janardhana Poojari at the Veera Maruthi Vyayama Shale at Tokkottu.

Poojari who spoke on the occasion, said the BJP was not seeking vote for its candidates but was seeking votes in the name of Modi. He said Modi was the only opponent for the Congress this time and defended his earlier statement challenging Modi to contest from DK constituency against him.

State Health Minister UT Khader urged the party workers to pledge to   work for the victory of its candidate.

Congress leaders Kanachur Monu, Dinesh Kumpala, Sadashiva Ullal, Eshwara Ullal, NS Karim, Mithun Rai, Kripa Amar Alva and others were present.

The Padayatra headed to Mangalore from Tokkottu.
