Congress ministers have failed to keep their promise : Munir Katipalla

Mangalore: A joint protest was organized by DYFI, SFI, DSS, and other like-minded organizations  to condemn the Derlakatte incident as well as the failure of the  state government to deliver its promises towards the citizens of Karnataka, on Thursday December 26.

The protest was held in front of DC office, under the leadership of  Munir Katipalla, district President of DYFI.

Highlighting the issue about moral policing, assault on women, and failure of the district administration to curb such incidents, Munir Katipalla said, “During the BJP rule, the society had to face these social menace. The people then trusted the Congress and hoped that it would deliver the promises, but the Congress also has failed to do so.”  

“Earlier when women were attacked in the home stay incident, Ramanath Rai, U T Khadar, and Abhayachandra Jain who are ministers now had walked along with us to protest against the ruling BJP government, but now even after they have become ministers nothing has changed. We need change in the society”, he added.

Munir Katipalla said, “A Hindu fanatic group attacked a student in Vamanjoor, a journalist was attacked by Muslim fundamentalists, youth are being assaulted, women are getting raped the district administration has failed to curb moral policing and fundamentalist  activities in the district.”

The agitators burnt an effigy of the district administration in the presence of  Ananda of DSS, Mahabala T Depelmaru, Imtiaz, Santhosh Bajal, Dayanand Shetty, and Pramila.
