Mangaluru: The state Congress has deployed observers to watch the movements of the Bharatiya Hindu Parishad (BHP) formed recently by former Puttur Block Congress President Hemanath Shetty. The party would initiate necessary action following scrutiny of the reports filed by the observers.

This was informed to the press by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President G Parameshwar on Monday, Feb 9 at the circuit house. The state Congress leader, said that the Congress party has mounted a close watch on the activities of the BHP to ensure that the new organization would not dent the communal fabric of society. “Swift action will be taken after considering the reports of the Congress volunteers deployed for the job, if the BHP jumps secular ideology of the party”, he reiterated.
The KPCC President seemed to dodge the questions on increased communal violence in the state in comparison to BJP rule, according to Satya Shodhana Samiti of the present government. Baffled, Parameshwar stated that the government was committed to take stringent actions against miscreants disrupting peace. “The government has given a free hand to the state police machinery to ensure law and order”.
Speaking on RSS think tank of DK, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, he conveyed the Congress has no fear in arresting the man. However actions against the latter would be taken when the time comes. He clarified that government was not under pressure not to arrest Parivar leader.
Parameswar expressed the view, that the government was not on the back-foot over Arkavati land de-notification issue. He said the government would come clean in the court and the BJP was wasting time disrupting assembly in both houses of the legislature.
