Mangalore: Congress candidate from Mangalore South Constituency and former bureaucrat JR Lobo, on April 15, Monday met Mangalore Bishop Rev Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza at the Bishop House and sought his blessings before filing his nominations for the upcoming Assembly elections slated to be held on May 5.
The Bishop who spoke after blessing Lobo, said he would pray to God to bless the Congress candidate, his supporters and party workers. The Bishop also stated that it was the duty of the religious leaders to pray for the well being of the society and nation.
Fr. J B Crasta, Secretary of the Laity Commission led the prayer service. Fr William Menezes, the PRO of the Diocese of Mangalore, Melwyn P Noronha, Roy Castelino, Stany Alvares, Fr Henry Sequeira, Chancellor, Fr Maxim Noronha the Procurator, Fr Valerian Menezes, Fr Denis D’Souza, Fr Ritesh Rodrigues, Pastor Alwyn Colaco and several others were present.
