Mangalore, Mar 27 : The supporters of BJP and Congress clashed during a public debate on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections at the city’s Nehru Maidan on March 27, Thursday evening. The party men even hurled chairs at each other and police had to resort to lathi charge to bring the situation under control.













It all began when SDPI member asked District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai as to why the Congress failed to arrest RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat as promised. This led to a big fight between Congress and BJP supporters.
Reportedly, Congress came in support of SDPI member, leading to heated arguments between the party members. However, the first few questions were smoothly answered. Ramanatha Rai from Congress, Capt Ganesh Karnik from BJP, M R Vasudeva from AAP and Yadav Shetty from CPI (M) participated in the debate.
The programme called ‘Mega-fight’ was conducted by a leading news channel of the state.
