CITU stages protest against anti-people policies of Centre

Mangalore :  P Madhavan, State Vice President of the CITU, has  alleged that the policies of the UPA led Union Government had brought untold hardships to the common man.

 

Participating in a protest staged  in front of the Deputy Commissioners office in Mangalore on June 14, Friday,  to condemn the  anti-people policies of the Centre, the CITU leader said the government has failed to solve the problems of the common man as well as the working class.

He strongly criticized the National Food Security Bill and added it would not help the common man in any way.

On the recently formed Congress government in the state, the CITU leader said he was hopeful that the government would live upto the expectations of the people by fulfilling all promises made to the electorate. He also urged the government to implement the Re 1 per kg rice scheme at the earliest.

Madhavan also came down heavily on the authorities for denying scholarship fund to those children of beedi workers who did not have Aadhar numbers. He also deplored the government policy of linking  bank account numbers with Aadhar numbers for LPG subsidy.

Several CITU leaders participated in the protest.
