Mangalore: A People’s campaign for Right to Water named ‘Namma Neeru’ aimed at pressurizing the government to stop water privatization, was held by Citizens Forum for Mangalore Development on Saturday, January 18, in front of the DC office.




Vidya Dinker, Convener of the forum said that this is part of month long drive across Karnataka of the People’s Campaign for Right to Water.
The members of the organization as well as students in Mangalore will collect over one lakh signatures from the people across the city and present it to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at the Water Rights Convention meeting to be held in the second week of February.
The campaigners have also urged for the enactment of new law to provide water security to all residents of the state.
