CID report baseless, say Belthangady protestors

Belthangady:Hundreds of activists of the Jilla Mahila Sabha, CPI(M) and DYFI staged black flag demonstration at Belthangady on November 1 demanding a CBI probe into the Sowjanya rape and murder case.

The agitators said only an impartial investigation by the CBI can deliver justice in the case.

N Prabha who addressed the protestors said the CID report was not acceptable and urged the government to immediately hand over the case to CBI.

There also ensued an altercation between the protestors and the police. The agitators were later arrested.
