Mangaluru: Bishop of the Mangalore Diocese Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha has announced that the churches will resume services from June 13 and has issued guidelines for the same.
Religious places such as mosques, temples and churches were closed to the devotees for the past two-and-half months owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown. After the relaxation of the lockdown guidelines, the government has finally given a green signal to the places of worship to open to the public from June 8.
Bishop Saldanha informed that masses should be celebrated in the churches from June 13, only after ensuring that all precautionary measures are taken to stop the spread of COVID-19.
The Diocese has requested all the parish priests to make the required arrangements to open the churches and carry out religious services as per the Government’s guidelines like arranging thermal screeners, sanitizers, volunteers, seating arrangements (with social distancing) etc.
