Moodbidri : Mahesh Shetty Timarody,  President of Prajaprabhutva Vedike has alleged that no political party has evinced  interest in pressurizing the government to probe the 462 cases of murders including Sowjanya case reported from Dharmasthala in the past 10 years.

Addressing a pro-Sowjanya protest meet held in front of the Rajeev Gandhi Complex here on November 12, Tuesday under the aegis of the ABVP and the Nagarika Hitharakshana Samithi, he questioned as to where was the proof to prove that Santosh Rao was the killer of Sowjanya? It has been learnt that the CID has no proof. Moreover the statement of Santosh and the statements of witnesses in police records do not tally, he said adding efforts were on to hush up the case. He also alleged that the government  ordered a CBI probe after all  evidences were destroyed.

He also alleged that the media reports that a fake  visa copy produced  to prove that one of the suspects was abroad when the incident took place, has so far not been probed.

Umesh, Nitish Kumar, Satish Bhandari, Prajwal and others were present.
