Cattle smuggling vehicle crashes into two-wheeler; driver flees

Mangalore: An Omni allegedly transporting cattle illegally collided against a two-wheeler at Majalthota, Munnur in Ullal on Monday June 2.

The driver of the Omni who soon tried to get the animal out of the vehicle and tie it up, however fled the scene leaving the vehicle behind, as the people around rushed to help. According to the sources, the Omni driver Abdul Khader was transporting the cow to a slaughter house at Chembugudde when he lost control over the vehicle and rammed it into the bike.

 The other injured in the accident has been identified as Rolan, a resident of Gattikudru who was riding the two-wheeler, and his wife Sunita who was riding pillion. Both were admitted to a hospital in Thokkottu.

It is also learnt that the cow that was stolen was from Fajir Govanitashraya and was supposed to be delivered at Thokkottu.

The Ullal police arrived at the spot and took the Omni and the animal into their possession.
