Mangalore : The Centenary celebrations of the Catholic Association of South Kanara (CASK) will be held at the Milagres Hall on September 22 at 6 pm.
Informing this to reporters here on September 16,Wednesday, Dr Derek Lobo, President of CASK said the Association was the oldest Catholic lay organization in south India which has been working towards the educational, social and general welfare of the community.
He said to mark its centenary celebrations, CASK will promote Blood, Organ and Whole Body Donations and will also substantially scale up the CASK Educational Fund. There will also be talks by eminent Catholics. A book on the history of CASK and Mangalorean Catholic Community will also be published.
Rajasthan Governor Margaret Alva will be the chief guest at the centenary function. Rev. Fr Aloysius DSouza, Bishop of Mangalore,will bless the occasion.Oscar Fernandes, State Minister for Road Transport and Highways, JR Lobo, MLA and Vivek Aranha, Chairman of Rosary Education Group are among other dignitaries who will grace the occasion.
