Puttur: Five people suffered serious injuries in a Toofan and Maruti Ritz car collision near Kallaje in Itur village on Kadaba-Subramanya road here on May 20.
Umarabba yane Puttumonu(42) from Ilanthila Jogibettu in Belthangady, Niyaz(32) from Ilanthila Kadavinabagilu, Haneef(34) from Ilanthila Manimaru, Naushad(26) from Kadavinabagilu, Abdul Salam(35) from Ilanthila Jogibettu are the victims who have been admitted to AJ Hopsital in Mangaluru. Another injured Siddiq(30), Yellamma(45) from Hubballi, her son Jagadish(28), his wife Shashikala(22), Shankarappa(58), Vasantha(27), Gangamma(20), Neelavva(35) who were in another car have been shifted to Puttur hospital.

Fifteen people belonging to a family from Hubballi were on pilgrimage to holy places in Dharmasthala and Subramanya. After visiting the holy places the family was returning to Habballi on the fateful day. When they reached near Kallaje, a Ritz car coming from the opposition direction rammed into their car.

Five people who suffered serious injuries were rushed to A J hospital in Mangaluru and the other injured were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
