Mangaluru: “The Congress and the JDS would finalise the candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha election within 3- 4 days and a meeting will be convened in this regard tomorrow,” informed KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao here on Sunday.

Gundu Rao was in city to attend the marriage programme of DK district youth Congress President Mithun Rai. He said, a meeting will be convened at Bengaluru, where leaders like Parameshwar, Revanna, Vishwanath among others will participate. Candidates will be finalised with the mutual understanding between the Congress and the JDS leaders” he said.

Responding to a query on Eshwarappa’s statement that H D Kumaraswamy was trying to come out of the coalition government, Gundu Rao said that there was no need to give any importance to Eshwarappa’s statement as he doesn’t know what he is talking about.
“Fearing defeat he has made irresponsible statement “, he said.

Meanwhile, he condemned the statement of Shobha Karandlaje as she claimed state government was responsible for the fire incident at air show. “The responsibility of state government is to maintain law and order only. The lapse of security by union government is the reason for the fire incident”, he said.
