Burglars Decamp Gold Ornaments worth a few lac from a Jewellery Shop

Moodbidri : A large scale burglary was reported in a jewellery shop located in the main street here on Sunday August 18 night.

The burglars struck Laxmi Jewellers that was owned by a certain Sridar Acharya on Sunday night.  The burglars gained entry inside the shop through a toilet located behind and decamped with gold ornaments placed in the locker by making an opening using gas cutters.

The gas cutters and gas cylinder was found abandoned on the backyard.  The burglars fled from the scene when they saw mobile patrol approaching at about 3.30am on Monday August 19.  The burglars in a hurry dumped 2 carry bags in household that lies besides the Hanuman temple, here. The police have traced the bags that contained the gold ornaments and deposited at the police station.

The burglary was came to light when the proprietor arrived on Monday morning to open the shop.
