Builders, contractors asked to ensure safety of workers from COVID, mosquitoes

Mangaluru: Builders and contractors have been asked to take precautionary measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 and arrange living facilities for construction workers at their sites itself.

This instruction was given during a meeting with builders and contractors organised at the DC’s office on Monday, May 11.

Builders and contractors were instructed to arrange transport facilities to ferry construction labourers to the construction site. They should also be given proper living facilities at the site itself.

Meanwhile, builders and contractors were asked to provide basic facilities for the construction workers at the site and to take measures to ensure that the area does not become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath, Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh and others were present.
