A native of Kundapur, Karvy was staying in a PG accommodation in Gayatri Nagar and was working in a private company in Mahadevapura. He and his friend Mithun Kumar, 23, also from Kundapur, had a party at his place on Saturday.

Around 12.30 am, both went for a joy ride on a bike (KA-20-Q-9410). Karvy was reportedly driving at a high speed and when he reached near Srinidhi Wines on West of Chord Road, he lost control and rammed the bike into a tree on the footpath.

“Karvy sustained fatal head injuries and Mithun also sustained injuries. They were rushed to a hospital nearby, where Karvy was declared brought dead. Prima facie, it is clear that Karvy was under the influence of alcohol and was not wearing a helmet when the incident happened,” the police said.
