Mangaluru: With support pouring in to save ‘Kambala’, the traditional sport of coastal belt of Karnataka, BJP State President B S Yedyurappa too has shown his solidarity with the Tuluvas and has hoped that even the High Court of Karnataka upholds the emotions of the people of Tulunadu.Addressing a news conference on Monday, BSY said that the sport which has a glorious history of over 1000 years must be allowed to survive.

With the hearing on Kambala slated to be held on January 30, BSY said that he hopes that verdict is favourable so that the people of the region are not forced to take to streets.
“The BJP is convinced that there is no tragedies or accidents caused due to this sport. It is also known that the ones owning the bovines go out of their way and beyond their capabilities to take care of the buffaloes. With all these highlights, the HC must allow the sport to continue,” he said.

Drift within BJP
