BJP wins Kasargod TMC bye-polls

The BJP has retained  the 6th Anebagilu ward of the Kasargod TMC, in the  bye-elections held on January 29, Wednesday. The BJP candidate Sandhya Mallya  won against her CPI(M) rival Pushpalatha by a margin of 432 votes. The UDF   candidate secured  35 votes.

The elections were held to the seat which fell vacant following the resignation of  the erstwhile BJP member Jyothi. Of the total 1144 voters of the ward, only 557 had exercised their franchise registering a  polling percentage of 48.69.

The elections were held at the BEM High School. The counting began at the  TMC auditorium on January 30, Thursday morning.
