Udupi : Former Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat has informed that a NH 66 Block agitation will be held on September 15 if the Highway Minister Oscar Fernandes and Udupi MP Jayaprakash Hegde failed to respond positively to the demand to construct flyovers at Brahmavar and Karavali Junctions.

Addressing press persons at the BJP office in the town on September 4, Wednesday, Bhat said  though the authorities had proposed underpass at both the locations, that is of little help and would only add to the existing problems. He also stated that flyovers would solve the problems facing the two locations and urged the authorities to drop the underpass proposals.

Raghupathi Bhat also stated that as Highway Minister and as a leader hailing from Udupi District, Oscar failed to contribute anything to his home constituency. Bhat was at the same time all praise for former minister late VS Acharya and said he had contributed significantly to his home district.

BJP Yuva Morcha President Vilas Nayak said the BJP has planned a bike rally on September 7  urging the NH authority to speed up the highway works.
