Mangaluru: With the BJP attacking the Congress government at the state, MLC Ivan D’Souza has called upon the BJP to first introspect its rule in the state during its tenure.

Addressing a news conference on Thursday on the city, D’Souza said that during BJP’s rule the state ranked first in corruption and there is a long list of ministers who visited the jail.

“Now the BJP calls CM Siddaramaiah a liar and a fraud. People like BSY, Eshwarappa and many others robbed the state blatantly. The BJP does not have any moral right to comment on CM Siddaramaiah,” he said adding that the BJP can comment on the programmes introduced by the state because that is the duty of the opposition, but personal comments are not acceptable.

Regarding drought he said, the state government demanded for Rs 3840 crore as drought aid, but Central government have given only Rs 1540 crore. The Congress government has completely utilized the aid given by Central government.

“The state government has requested for an additional aid of Rs 12345, but Central government is not responding positively for our request,” he said adding that the Congress will keep its celebration of completing third year in power in the state as a very low key affair due to the drought situation.

“The CM will release a sovenier which consists of the developmental works done by the government. The state government has fulfilled 98 promises out of 136 mentioned in the manifesto in just three years,” he said.
