Karkala: The fresh controversy broke out in Karkala over using of  hindu religion ‘Om’ symbol on a flag in a bike rally, where volunteers cheered slogans related to Hindu community.

The BJP bike rally was held on Monday afternoon from Pulkeri bypass road in which hundreds of supporters participated.

As per the rules of EC they should not campaign in support of one particular community, shout slogans, use flag depicting religious symbols.

One of the police personnel had stopped them using the flags but the group had continued to use it in the rally.

Several questions have been arising about the lack of action not taken against them. The rally, which was started from the bypass road and ended at Belman after an open discussion.
