BJP protests against Panchayatraj Act Amendment Bill

Bantwal :  The  Bantwal unit of the BJP staged a protest in front of the taluk office at BC Road on July 11, Thursday  condemning the Panchayatraj Amendment  Act  brought about by the state government.


Addressing the protestors, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said it was not proper on the part of the Congress Government to curtail the rights of the Panchayat Members through this Bill  and described it as  against democratic principles.

He alleged that there has been spurt in thefts and rape cases ever since Congress government came to power.

Former minister Kota Srinivas Poojari  who also spoke said  the people were hoping social justice from the chief minister who was a part of AHINDA movement but  he has disappointed people through his anti-people policies.

Monappa Bhandari, MLC, District BJP President Padmanabha Kottari, Sulochana GK Bhat, State BJP Vice President, Umanath Kotian, District BJP Vice President, and several party leaders attended the protest.

A memorandum was also submitted to the government through the tahsildar.
