Bantwal : A “religious” controversy has cropped up in the Government First Grade College of Vittal. It is learnt, students of first year B.Com in the college are not happy with the way students are allotted to B.Com A and B divisions.
The students allege that students of a particular community were more in the “A” division and have urged the management to ensure that students of both communities are almost equitably distributed in both the divisions. The students had also made an appeal in this regard.
It is believed this issue had also led to a heated debate between the students and the principal. After the principal intimated the police of the problem, the police arrived at the college on July 11, Thursday and held discussions with the principal and the students.
They have asked the college to settle the issue by Friday failing which the 20 students who have submitted an appeal should arrive at the police station.
