Mangaluru: BJP President Amit Shah has cancelled his Mangaluru visit and the new date will be finalised soon, said BJP District President Sanjeeva Matandoor here at a press meet on October 3.
Amit Shah was supposed to visit Mangaluru and hold several party meetings on October 3 after participating in a rally organised in Payannur, condemning the killing of right-wing activists. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to arrive in Mangaluru on October 3 and attend the huge rally in Kerala tomorrow.
Matandoor informed during the press meet that Shah’s visit was cancelled since he has been asked to return to New Delhi.
Earlier, Shah arrived in Mangaluru in the wee hours of October 3 before proceeding to Kerala to participate in a Padayatra at Payannur. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Sanjeeva Matandoor, Krishna J Palemar and several other party workers were present at the airport to welcome the party national president on his arrival here at around 1 am on Tuesday. Heavy security was deployed at the airport.
Shah on Tuesday, launched a scathing attack on the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala saying Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was responsible for the political murders of BJP and RSS workers in the state. Shah said as many as 120 BJP and RSS workers had been murdered in Kerala since 2001 and asked the CPI-M-led government to let the people know who was responsible for such killings.
